Intro til uddannelsen

You will learn about the core elements of mathematics and how to work with basic research in mathematics, mathematical didactics and mathematical models in areas such as physics, epidemiology and physiology.

Mathematics er et fag, du læser som en del af din bacheloruddannelse på RUC. 

Is it possible to design a mathematical model for depression? Why and how do you find new mathematics? Is it so difficult to foresee a financial crisis? These are some of the problem issues you can work with in Mathematics. 

In the bachelor subject Mathematics, you will learn about the core elements of mathematics and how to work with basic research in mathematics, mathematical didactics and mathematical models in areas such as physics, epidemiology and physiology. We combine the lectures’ systematic teaching of the core elements of mathematics with independent research’s quest for and learning of the mathematics required to solve a problem. That is how you learn mathematics that is not normally included on the syllabus lists and, more importantly, you learn how to familiarize yourself with new mathematics.

All teaching and project writing is conducted in English.
 

Din hverdag på studiet

The teaching is conducted in small groups in close dialogue with the teacher. The courses often involve the formation of smaller groups for calculation exercises. You will work on projects with 1-3 other students, and the project group constitutes an important academic and social basis for you. There is generally a high level of activity at the department, and you will have good study-related facilities at your disposal, including easy access to equipment, computers with specialized software and technical support.
