Do you want to study how globalisation affects political stability and conflict resolutions?
The master’s programme in Global Studies gives you an advanced theoretical knowledge about the social, political, economic and cultural processes associated with globalisation. The emphasis is on the importance of globalisation on power relations, conflict resolution, political stability and international political governance; Of how power relations and political and cultural identities are constructed and challenged; and the operation of the global economy and the current developments in global capitalism.
The programme consists of global politics, global political economy and global sociology. You will learn to analyse global issues from different academic perspectives; and to combine these perspectives in the understanding and study of the problems and the possible national and international, political solutions.
With particular regard to qualifying you for work in national and international NGOs, private companies, the media, the public sector and regional and international organizations.
The programme gives you a wide range of job opportunities in the public or private sector within:
- Government ministries and regional and international organisations
This degree qualifies you for a PhD.
The objective of Global Studies is to produce graduates with an interdisciplinary understanding of the political, social and economic processes and consequences of globalisation. On this foundation, graduates can fill business positions which require indepth insight into international political control, international development, global social change, European integration and transnational economic dynamics. Graduates will also be capable of occupying positions which require a thorough understanding of the interplay between Danish societal conditions and international and global processes of change. The study programmes are oriented towards employment within both the public and private sectors.
Din hverdag på studiet
The frames of the professional study environment is mainly the courses and the project work. The courses at Global Studies have attendance of 15-30 students, which leaves ample opportunities for debates between students and lecturers, student presentations and questions. The group work is in groups of two-four students with a supervisor affiliated helping with the academic and practical part of the group work.
Many of our students are from around the world and many of the Danish students choose to study abroad for a semester making this programme part of an intercultural, international environment.
