Students at Roskilde University

Students from the MSc in Geography are automatically eligible for admission and must sign up for the course through STADS online student services.

All other students must apply for pre-approval from their respective study boards.

These students should follow the procedure for students from other Danish universities and international students.

As a master student at Roskilde University you have fulfilled the English language requirement through your admission to your master programme.

The course corresponds to 5 ECTS credits. The course requires a Bachelors degree.

Application deadline: 15 June 2021

Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis before this deadline.

The course is also open to members of the general public, who fulfil the requirements for admission.  

Language requirements:

You must fulfil our English-language requirements by one of the following documents:

A. Completed English-language Bachelors degree or enrolment in an English-language Masters programme.

B. Proof of English-language proficiency through the following tests:
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 or
TOEFL: paper-based: 560 / internet-based: 83.The university's TOEFL code is B384 or
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): passed or
Certificate of Advanced English (CAE)
The IELTS or TOEFL test should not be more than two years old.

C. Documented Danish high school English level B.

Are you a student from another university?

If you are from another Danish university, you will have the opportunity to transfer the credits awarded from the course. In this case you don’t have to pay the course fee.

Are you an international student or applying for a vacant place?

You are required to pay for the course with some exceptions (see box with information on fees). You will receive information regarding payment after your application has been approved.

Fees

Students enrolled at a Danish university with a pre-approval from the home institution do not have to pay fees. Students from universities in the EU, an EEA-country or Switzerland with an exchange agreement with RUC do not have to pay fees.

Students from universities in countries outside of the EU, EEA or Switzerland with an exchange agreement with RUC do not have to pay. Students from universities of the Critical Edge Alliance (CEA) with exchange agreements do not have to pay.

CEA universities with exchange agreements: Tata Institute of Social Science, University of the Andes, University Paris 8, Evergreen State College, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and Al Akhawayn University.

If you want to use an exchange agreement, you must be accepted and nominated by your home university.

The fee for Danish students without pre-approval from their home university is DKK 2.625.

The fee for Danish and international participants, who are not university students is DKK 2.625.

For students from universities in an EU country, an EEA country or Switzerland, which do not have exchange agreements with RUC, the fee is DKK 2.625.

For international students from universities outside of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, which do not have exchange agreements with RUC the fee is DKK 7.649,17.

The course takes place on campus at Roskilde University. RUC cannot offer accommodation on campus. Hotel, hostel and Airbnb accommodation are available in Roskilde city and Copenhagen.
