H5N1

No cases of person-to-person or mammal-to-mammal transmission of H5N1 have been reported as of March 31.

 

MEASLES

As of March 27, 2025, Center for Disease Control reports a total of 483 confirmed measles cases in the U.S. in 2025. 14 % of cases are/have been hospitalized (70 cases of 483), and 2 cases have died.

As of April 1, 2025, Texas Department of State Health Services reports 422 cases of measles from this year. This is an increase of 95 from March 25, 2025. The majority of cases are unvaccinated/have unknown vaccination status (417 cases of 422).

 

POLIO

As of March 26, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative reports 24 WPV1-positive environmental samples in Pakistan. In Africa, a total of 4 cVDPV2 cases and 8 cVDPV2-positive environmental samples have been reported. Additionally, Israel reported one cVDPV2-positive environmental sample.

 

MPOX

Data from the World Health Organization shows 452 new MPOX cases in Uganda as of March 30, indicating a new increase in the outbreak.

 

MISCALLANEOUS

Cholera

United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has reported 9.274 cholera cases and 356 deaths in Angola as of March 28, with the outbreak spreading to 17 of 21 provinces. To combat the crisis, 700.500 vaccine doses arrived, with a vaccination campaign planned for April. UNICEF and WHO are strengthening treatment protocols, training healthcare workers, and improving access to safe water.
