VUCCA Project Update: Fieldwork in Acholi Subregion
While many of us have been enjoying a summer break, a dedicated team of young, highly educated Ugandan researchers has been hard at work in the Acholi subregion. As part of the VUCCA project, they’ve been collecting vital survey data on adaptation and vulnerability to climate change in conflict-affected areas.
This important fieldwork is being led by our outstanding PhD candidates Damasco Rubangakene and Derick Kawanguzi Tenywa. The entire team deserves recognition for their tireless efforts.
Meet the team: Christine Lamwaka, Betty Acan, James Oneka, Joyce Adyero, Harriet Abalo, Bruno Omara, Mercy Robin Aber, Derick Komakech, Simon Okwera, and Nancy Tracy Aromo.
Their work lays the foundation for a deeper understanding in regions facing the dual challenges of climate change and the legacy of armed conflict. Thank you, team!
