Research library with public access

Roskilde University Library (RUb) is a research library that gives employees and students at Roskilde University access to information and materials that are necessary for their research, teaching and learning.

Roskilde University Library is also a public library for regional research and teaching institutions, businesses and citizens.

Roskilde University Library is part of Royal Danish Library, which is responsible for all technical details regarding the library system and registration etc.

Access to the library is available from 8:00 – midnight for RUC students and RUC employees with a student/employee card and for users with an access code.
If you are not affiliated with Roskilde University, you may visit the library’s Information Desk to obtain an access code
If you do not have an access card or code, the library is only accessible Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 15:00.
The staffed opening hours at university library are from Monday to Friday from 9:00 – 15:00.
During this time, anyone can enter the library.
During the summer holidays (weeks 27 - 32), personal assistance at the Information Desk is available Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 13:00. Outside these hours, you must use an access card or code.
There is no in-person assistance at the Information Desk on the following days:
- Public holidays
- Constitution Day (5 June)
- 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30 December 2026
