This year's Best Article Award from the International Journal of Press/Politics has been given to AlterPublics PI Eva Mayerhöffer and colleagues Annett Heft, Curd Knüpfer, and Susanne Reinhardt (Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society/Freie Universität Berlin) for the article "Toward a Transnational Information Ecology on the Right? Hyperlink Networking among Right-Wing Digital News Sites in Europe and the United States". The article can be downloaded open access.

The award was given on Friday, September 23 at the end of this year’s annual Conference of the International Journal of Press/Politics at Loughborough University. The authors participated virtually to pay their gratitude to the committee.

The award – officially named The International Journal of Press/Politics Jay Blumler Best Article Award – is given once a year for the best article published in the journal in the previous year. The IJPP editorial board chooses the winner from a shortlist compiled by associate editors and the editor-in-chief.

Earlier at the same conference, postdoc Jakob Bæk Kristensen and PhD fellow Frederik Møller Hansen presented AlterPublics’ new results on the spread of Russian-backed content in alternative news environments in four EU countries.
