On July 28, 2023, all education seekers found out whether they have been admitted to a higher education program.

Roskilde University offers 1574 new students a place on the university's seven different bachelor programs. This is 317 more than last year and represents an increase of 25 percent. This is the largest relative increase among all universities in the country.

"We are pleased with the large increase in the number of students, and we look forward to welcoming all new students to Roskilde University. They will learn to work in a problem-oriented and analytical way and to collaborate in order to create knowledge and results for the benefit of society. For example, our students often work together with companies and municipalities in the Region of Zealand, because internships and project collaboration strengthen their skills and ability to work interdisciplinary in complex contexts," says Rector Hanne Leth Andersen.

Largest number of students ever admitted

Three of the university's bachelor's degree programs will admit more students this year than ever before. These are Global Humanities, the International Bachelor of Science and the International Bachelor of Social Sciences. The Bachelor of Humanities has the highest intake since 2018.

"Our programs provide students with the skills to help tackle some of the major societal challenges we face in these years. Not least the green transition, the rapid digital development, and the severe conflicts we see both in Europe and globally. I believe that our educational model with its problem- and solution-oriented focus is attractive to young people and one of the reasons why we are seeing such a significant increase in student interest this year," says Rector Hanne Leth Andersen.
