Political actors around the globe, from Tahrir Square to Trump Tower, claim to speak for the people against the political elite. Meanwhile politicians and researchers warn us that populism may pose a fundamental threat to democracy. But what is the relationship between the people, populism and democracy? How do we best understand and deal with populism?
Last year, the research group organized a panel debate on the topic of populism with the participation of Rune Lykkeberg, Mogens Herman Hansen, Ditte Maria Brasso Sørensen and Allan Dreyer Hansen moderated by Carina Saxlund Bischoff, which is now available online (in Danish only)
