RUC moves up in the international rankings
For the second year in a row, Roskilde University is listed on the international ranking ’Times Higher Education World University Rankings’, and this year with a markedly improved position.
RUC is placed in the interval 401-500 out of 1,100 universities, and is thus in the top half of the list, along with the six other Danish universities on the list. Last year, RUC was in the interval from 501-600 out of 980 universities.
Times Higher Education is among the most prestigious international rankings and only lists research-oriented universities. Placement on the list is important for, among other things, the university's international collaborations. At the top of the list are, inter alia, University of Oxford, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and Stanford University.
Pro-rector Peter Kjær from Roskilde University is proud of the university’s ranking:
"We regard the ranking as a clear indication that RUC is a university of international standard. Although the Times Higher Education World University Rankings is just one of several ways of measuring quality, it's a measurement that is respected both at home and abroad. It is also very impressive that seven out of eight Danish universities appear on the list. This is far from inevitable. On the contrary, it is the result of many years of long-term investments in research and education. It also imposes an obligation on all of us - both university people and politicians.
