The CEO of NIRAS Becomes the New Chairman of the Board at Roskilde University

The future chairman of the board of Roskilde University has extensive top management experience and perspective. Carsten Toft Boesen is the CEO of the consulting engineering company NIRAS and has 20 years of experience in strategic management of a large company.

He has also gained his insight into societal conditions and the university sector from his membership of the board of the Danish Export Council and of the Institute for Water and Environment (DHI) and through his many years of work at the Confederation of Danish Industry's Research and Education Policy Committee - the last 5 years as chairman.

Carsten Toft Boesen looks forward to playing an even more active role in the university sector, including helping to execute the university's new strategy:

"Roskilde University's approach to learning and problem-oriented collaboration is increasingly relevant. And Roskilde University has an ambitious and highly socially relevant strategy and the necessary development readiness to execute the strategy. I look forward to contributing, and as chairman of the board, I will focus on sustainable development among other things. Generally, I look forward to this assignment both in relation to the political level and the overall development of the university," says Carsten Toft Boesen.

Carsten Toft Boesen replaces Erik Jacobsen on December 1, 2020. Erik Jacobsen has been on the board for two periods (eight years), and he could therefore not be reelected.
