Center leader Lone Simonsen just returned from visiting the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, USA where she works with Cecile Viboud and their joint PhD student Chelsea Hansen. After finishing and submitting for publication a joint publication on cancer mortality impact due to covid-19, we worked some on another joint paper on the “signature features” of the 1889 Russian pandemic. Then the entire group of disease modelers, global health experts and the phylogenetics team at the Fogarty Center went out to enjoy a fabulous Mexican lunch in the sun.
