RUC enters into cooperation with leading experimental university in Paris

Roskilde University has signed a new cooperation agreement with Université Paris 8, known for some of France’s leading intellectuals.

Today, together with RUC’s Rector, Hanne Leth Andersen, the President of Université Paris 8, Annick Allaigre signed a new cooperation agreement.

The agreement was signed in the Royal Danish Playhouse on the occasion of French President, Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Denmark and his meeting with the Queen at the same venue. The signing ceremony was attended by the French Minister for European Affairs Nathalie Loiseau and the Danish Minister of Science, Technology, Information and Higher Education, Tommy Ahlers (V).

“France is currently making a huge investment in education with a focus on critical thinking, innovation and cooperation. That is why it made perfect sense to sign the agreement during the visit of the President,” explains Hanne Leth Andersen.

“Université Paris 8 is RUC’s twin sister in France. Many of our interests overlap, particularly when it comes to academic profile and social and global engagement,” says Hanne Leth Andersen.

Université Paris 8 has housed many of France’s leading intellectuals, including Michel Foucault, Jean-François Lyotard, Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Lacan and Hélène Cixous.
