This year, Roskilde University has received 1,252 first-priority applications via Quota 2, representing a 10 percent increase compared to last year. The trend indicates a continued positive development in the interest of Roskilde University’s programs.

“We are very pleased that even more students are choosing Roskilde University as their priority through Quota 2. It reflects a growing interest in our programs and our interdisciplinary approach to learning. We also see it as a sign that our new strong master’s programs are relevant and attractive to students,” says Hanne Leth Andersen, Rector of Roskilde University.

In January, Roskilde University introduced a new master’s program landscape, which this year's new bachelor’s students will be the first to attend. The new master’s programs all have a strong foundational discipline and focus on areas such as sustainability, digitalization, and AI.

“We can see that a significant portion of this year’s increase in Quota 2 applications is within the social sciences where the new master's programs emphasize economics, law, mathematics, and modeling more. This is very encouraging,” says Hanne Leth Andersen.

The number of Quota 2 applications to Roskilde University’s bachelor’s programs also increased in both 2023 and 2024.

This year, a total of 56,675 applicants applied for higher education before the application deadline on March 15 — an overall increase of 4 percent compared to the previous year.
