In this talk, Vasna Ramasar will offer a decolonial and feminist perspective on green transitions, opening up the space to consider that we need a just transition. Exploring ecologically unequal exchange and climate debt through case studies in South Africa and Congo, the lecture will explore how communities are resisting unjust transitions and opening up space for homegrown alternatives to development.

Biography: Vasna Ramasar is an Associate Professor at Lund University, Division of Human Ecology. She is the Director of the Masters programme on Culture, Power and Sustainability. She is a founding member of the Collective Against Environmental Racism in Denmark, Global Tapestry of Alternatives and Post Extractive Futures.
