The Committee for Research Ethics at Roskilde University
The Committee for Research Ethics at Roskilde University has been set up by the Rector to deal with questions concerning good scientific practice.
The four members of the committee were appointed by the Rector on the recommendation of the tenured professors and associate professors of the departmental councils at each of the university's four departments. The members are appointed for a 3-year period. The committee appoints its own chairman. The committee receives secretariat services from the Research Support Office.
The duties of the Committee are to:
- Advise the Rector and the Academic Council and keep them abreast of any misconduct and any matters relating to the Danish Committees on Scientific Dishonesty, at 2-4 meetings each year
- Help to clarify the existing standards for good scientific practice
- Take steps to ensure there is a discussion of the standards for good scientific practice
- Make recommendations in specific cases
