FAQ about mandatory credit transfer
Why am I required to inform the university of my previous studies at bachelor’s level?
The Ministerial Order on Admission and Enrollment (No. 257 of 18/03/2015) makes it mandatory for applicants to apply for a credit transfer, if they have already completed study elements at bachelor’s level at another bachelor’s programme - but only if it was not completed.
Will I be able to get a credit transfer?
You will be granted a credit transfer, if the passed courses from your previous studies at bachelor’s level are considered comparable to the content of the bachelor’s programme that you have been admitted to at Roskilde University. In order to assess if your previous studies are of relevance, we must receive an official transcript of grades of the passed courses and a course description of each of the passed courses.
You should note that if your previous studies at bachelor’s level are considered part of your entry qualification, you will usually not be able to get a credit transfer based on these studies. This is relevant for applicants with qualifications from countries where higher education studies are considered part of the entry qualification. You can find a list of foreign entry qualifications from a number of countries at the website of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
Why do I need to inform you of the bachelor subjects that I intend to study?
You must apply for a credit transfer to the complete bachelor’s degree at Roskilde University. The bachelor programmes at Roskilde University consist of courses and projects within the programme’s study field, two elective courses, two bachelor subjects or a single bachelor subject and a bachelor project. For more information, you can read the introduction page about our bachelor programmes.
In order to ensure proper planning of your degree, it is important to know if you have considered what bachelor subject(s) you wish to study. If you already know which bachelor subjects you want to study, please let us know by stating this in the application form.
