In order to apply for admission at Roskilde University, you must fulfil certain requirements. You must either have an entry qualification or apply for admission based on an exemption. In order to apply for an exemption, you must write an application for an exemption.
Danish as well as foreign citizens may apply for exemption-based admission.
Who assesses your application and on which basis?
Your application will be assessed at the relevant bachelor’s programme. It is an individual assessment of whether you:
- have achieved educational qualifications equivalent to the admission requirements
- are able to complete the programme within the official duration of the programme
In your application for an exemption, you should therefore give emphasis to your educational qualifications that are comparable to the admission requirements.
In addition, to your application for an exemption, you also must write a motivational letter for each of the bachelor programmes that you apply for admission to. Read our guide to writing a motivational letter.

You apply online at optagelse.dk. In the online application, you must indicate that you are applying based on exemption and upload your application for an exemption.
