You can apply for a preliminary assessment between 1 October and 1 December. Processing time is up to 4 weeks for fully documented applications (see document requirements below). You can only apply for an assessment of your entry qualifications to our bachelor programs.
Please take the time to read the following information about admission requirements to Roskilde University thoroughly before applying for a preliminary assessment of your foreign entry qualifications.
General admission requirements
To apply for one of our bachelor programs, you must meet the general admission requirements and the specific admission requirements.
To meet the general admission requirements, you must have a valid upper secondary education.
You can see a list of valid upper secondary educations from the issuing country on the website of the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Please note that often it is not enough with only the upper secondary education; you might also have to have supplementary education such as 1 year of passed university studies (especially if you have non-EU entry qualifications).
Specific admission requirements
You must also meet the specific admission requirements for the individual programs you apply for.
You can see the specific admission requirements for our international bachelor programs here.
To see how you can meet the individual requirements and levels, please scroll down to the bottom of the specific admission requirements page and click “Assessment of subject levels from international entry qualifications”.
For our bachelor programs, we do not accept English tests to meet the English requirements in the specific admission requirements; you must meet the English requirements with qualifications from your upper secondary education or supplementary courses as described in the specific admission requirements.
We only assess completed educational programs. If you are still attending upper secondary / high school, we will only accept your application, if you are eligible to receive your final diploma in 2019.
To apply for a preliminary assessment, please send the following documents and information:
- In which country did you pass your upper secondary education?
- Which bachelor program are you applying for? (International or Danish)
- Diploma and transcripts of grades from upper secondary education
- All documentation (diplomas, transcripts, course descriptions) for any other passed exams on upper secondary level or higher.
- A filled in verification form (stamped and signed by the headmaster of your school)
Please do not send:
- motivational letters or essays
- Documentation for education below upper secondary level
- Letters of reference
- Diplomas for extracurricular activities
Only documents in Danish or English are accepted. If your original documents are in another language, you must have them translated into Danish or English by an authorized translator.
Please send your application to email@example.com and mark the email “Pre-assessment BA [your name]”. Please do not send us reminders in this period, as it will only prolong the processing time for all applicants. If you receive our autoreply, you can be sure we have received your application.
A preliminary assessment is not an application for admission to Roskilde University. Even if your application for preliminary assessment is considered to meet the general and specific admission requirements for the program you intend to apply for, you are not guaranteed admission to Roskilde University. Rules, regulations and requirements at the time of preliminary assessment may differ from those at the time of application for admission, and Roskilde University cannot be held liable for such changes. Only the decision of your actual admission application is legally binding. You can apply for admission via www.optagelse.dk from 1 February until 15 March.
