Regulations
§1. Introduction
These rules apply to Roskilde University Library and relate to the use of the library's public facilities.
Roskilde University Library is a public library open to anyone who respects the standing regulations and who abides by the directions given by the library staff.
§2. General use
As a public research library, Roskilde University Library is open to anyone, though the library’s primary obligation is to facilitate study and research activities at Roskilde University. Many people use the library, so be respectful in order for everybody to be able to be here. Please take good care of the library to make sure that as many people as possible can benefit from it.
Part 2.2 Signs at the library should be followed at any time.
Part 2.3 The individual user must not be a nuisance to other library users or library staff.
Part 2.4 Excessive noise and violent behavior are not acceptable in the library.
Part 2.5 Beverages are allowed in the library. Food is allowed, provided you do not disturb others and clean up afterwards.
Part 2.6 The library's public computers can be used by everyone, but are in principle earmarked for research and study purposes. The staff maintains the right to limit an individual user’s access if computers are used for inappropriate purposes.
Part 2.7 Items and equipment provided by the library for use in the library must be treated with care. Damaged items will result in a compensation charge. Underlining, insertions, folding of pages etc. in books and journals are also regarded as damage.
Part 2.8 Animals, with the exception of registered service dogs, are not allowed inside the library.
The above rules also apply to the library's external areas.
§3. Sanctions
Users who do not respect good order or do not follow the instructions of the staff can be expelled for a shorter or longer period.
Part 3.2 Any visitor must at all times follow the library regulations and any instructions given by the staff. Violation can lead to a suspension from Roskilde University Library for a shorter or longer period, and, in grave circumstances, to the loss of the right to use the library.
Harassment, vandalism, theft, etc. will be reported to the police.
§4. Complaints
Complaints about decisions made by Roskilde University Library staff can be submitted in writing to the Head of the Library.
