Minimum grade requirements
RUC requires applicants to fulfil minimum grade requirements for admission to the International Bachelor in Social Sciences.
This means that your application for admission will only be considered for admission, if you meet the grade requirements below and the admission requirements. If you do not meet the grade requirements, you will receive a rejection letter, regardless of whether there are fewer applicants than the number of study places.
The grade requirements below are set according to the Danish grading system. You can find an overview of the Danish 7-point grading scale on the Ministry of Higher Education and Science’s website.
Quota 1
To apply for admission in quota 1, you must have a minimum overall average equivalent to at least:
- 6.0 on the Danish 7-point grading scale from your entry qualification
Quota 2
To apply for admission to quota 2, you must either have a minimum overall average equivalent to at least:
- 6.0 on the Danish 7-point grading scale from your entry qualification or
- 4.0 on the Danish 7-point grading scale in the subjects English and Mathematics
If you do not meet the requirement of a minimum of 4.0 on average for the mentioned subjects, you can take supplementary courses to meet this grade requirement.
If you apply for the quota 2 deadline (15 March), and have a minimum of 6.0 on average, your application will also be assessed in quota 1 first.
How grades from international entry qualifications are evaluated
If you hold a general upper secondary examination from an EU/EEA country, your grades are usually convertible to the Danish grading scale.
If you hold an entry qualification from a non-EU/EEA country, your grades cannot be converted directly to the Danish grading scale. In order to compare your grades to the Danish grading scale, we will make an assessment of equivalence.
The Admissions Office will assess whether you fulfil the minimum grade requirements when going through your application.
No guarantee of admission
You are not guaranteed admission, even if you meet the grade requirement in either quota 1 or quota 2. It only means that you will be considered for admission. The outcome depends on the number of qualified applicants in relation to the number of study places available.
If there are more applicants than available study places, the applicants are prioritized in:
- Quota 1 according to the GPA from their entry qualification. This means that the required GPA may be higher than 6.0 on the Danish 7-point grading scale.
- Quota 2 according to the quota 2 criteria, i.e. motivational letter application, study-relevant activities, etc.
